David Holmgren – RetroSuburban Downshifting

In 1978, David Holmgren collaborated with Bill Mollison on a vision of ethics and principles to guide how humans interact with the Earth and each other; these visions were written down in their now-famous book Permaculture One. David is still thankfully very much in the game and has recently produced a new book called “RetroSuburbia: the downshifter’s guide to a resilient future”. Michael Pilarski, who hosted the Drylands Permaculture Course along with Penny Livingston, worked a great deal with David in the early days of the movement, and we were very glad that he could join us to talk about his new work with our class! Thankfully, we recorded this session for your enjoyment as well.
