Ernst Götsch and Syntropic Farming
I highly recommend this short film introducing Ernst Götsch and his Syntropic Farming he developed in Brazil over 40 years on 500 hectares (1250 acres). A great example of earth repair and a productive agroforestry system. There are also examples of newer plantings by some of his students. Very impressive. We need to see lots more of this. Syntropic farming is spreading to other countries already. Joining the ranks of many other great agroforestry systems. Starting with bare, degraded land, in only 40 years, Götsch developed one of the best restoration examples of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. Here is a quote from Ernst Götsch at the end of the film.
–Michael Pilarski
“Nowadays all the 17 streams have water all year round, even in the driest periods. Humans could reconcile themselves with the planet. Finding a way to be useful and welcomed in the system but we don’t realize that, we can’t see because we have disconnected ourselves from life on the planet, thinking that we are the intelligent ones. We can’t see that we are just part of an intelligent system.”
