Maria Wilvenna Añora is the co-founder and the strategy lead of AtoANI, a startup social enterprise, which produces and distributes organically-farmed fresh produce. She also co-founded AtoANI BioPack which produces biodegradable packaging from agro-industrial waste. AtoANI currently supports 20 farmers in the Filipino province of Bohol to reduce post harvest waste and create biodegradable packaging for their product.

The main organic farm is located in Sitio Sudlon, Brgy. Cambuhat, Buenavista, Bohol which is near Bohol’s famous Cambuhat Oyster Farm with a regular Cambuhat River Village Tour (CRVT) handled by the Cambuhat Enterprise Development Fisheries Association (CEDFA). The farm produces and distributes organically farmed fresh produce and processed food products such as chili flakes, moringa coffee and dried herbs.

Target beneficiaries of AtoANI are the local residents of its farm and partner farm locations as it aims to influence more farmers as possible to be involved in sustainable farming practices through business partnership with its proprietary business model or system.

Overall, AtoANI is on a mission to: (a) use only natural and sustainable farming practices free from synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, (b) deliver healthy products to customers on agreed delivery times in the most convenient way possible and (c) implement a data-based produce-to-demand sustainable agriculture model to support farming communities. The organization seeks to leave minimal carbon footprint further promote ecotourism in Cambuhat in the untapped area of agro-tourism.

“If these actual happenings are not pressing enough to act now to address our global issues, then I don’t know what else should still happen to force us to open our eyes to these problems that we have been ignoring for a long time already.”
