Water Stories with Zachary Weiss is full of world-class restoration examples.

I first met Zach Weiss in 2011 at a permaculture design course I co-taught in Dayton, Montana.  Sepp Holzer, famous Austrian permaculturist, taught a 2-week course right afterwards.  Zach ended up becoming one of Sepp’s foremost students and is now one of the world’s most knowledgeable people on how to rehydrate landscapes and reduce flooding.  Zach’s Youtube channel now has 143 videos.  Great place to learn about rehydrating landscapes.  https://www.youtube.com/@Water_Stories

His website is https://www.waterstories.com/. Water Stories empowers thousands worldwide to restore the water cycle through practical, actionable training. By distilling the wisdom of leading water restoration experts, we make life-changing techniques accessible to everyone – regardless of background or experience. Learn how to revitalize landscapes, mitigate drought and flooding, and contribute to climate resilience, one intervention at a time. Join the growing community of Water Stories heroes building a water-secure future for all.

Zach will be attending our Global Earth Repair Convergence in May 2026 to lend his voice to how we can regenerate the planet and will be part of a team teaching a half-day intensive on Re-hydrating the Land on May 11th. He was deeply involved with the first Global Earth Repair Conference in 2019, the Drylands Restoration Course in 2021, and the Global Earth Repair Summit in 2022. We listed him in our “hall of fame” for his work toward helping others rehydrate their landscapes.
