Christian has backgrounds in biomimicry, green buildings, sustainable development, disasters, telecomputing, construction, cooperatives, intentional communities and ecovillages. Having worked in both the public and private sectors, he’s had multiple professions including farmer, entrepreneur, jeweler, gardener, landscape contractor, construction tradesman, machinist, public regulatory and policy analyst, building energy modeler, solar architect, system administrator, application analyst, disaster hazard mitigator, and college professor. Human waste is literally killing us and the biological world. Our air, water, soil and food are contaminated with toxics. Modern agricultural techniques are killing the soil microbiome which undermines carbon sequestration necessary to mitigate climate change. All is not doom and gloom however. A small but growing revolution is underway in green chemistry, biodegradable materials, no-till agriculture, grey- and black-water usage and treatments, organic fertilizers and biocides, etc.
