El Hadji Salifou Ouédraogo has nurtured thousands of baobab trees from tiny seeds to expansive forests for the past 47 years. The trees in turn help his family, his village and the Earth. He has planted more than 3000 Baobabs in his life.

Ouédraogo started as a mango tree planter, but as he grew up and watched everyone else planting mango trees, he felt the urge to do something different. All the villagers called him crazy, but this opposition only made him stronger willed. He says that planting baobabs is very important for Muslims. He also states the nutrition of baobab fruit to help balance blood sugar levels as it contains a good amount of minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins.
