Organic Farm School of Whidbey Island

An intense and integrated program designed to prepare new farmers for long term resiliency, addressing cultural, environmental, and economic goals in concert with community. Experiences include annual vegetable crop production, seed development and production, business planning and marketing. Students visit 10-20 regional farms, design a personal business plan, and explore some of the philosophical/ethical issues underpinning the work of smaller scale farmers in the 21st century.
