Samburu Community – Replanting the Forest-Savannah Ecosystem in Rural Kenya

Dear friends and colleagues in promoting biodiversity,

Recently I stumbled upon a crowdfunder for the Samburu community in N’kilois village in a remote part of Kenya.  Their vision is to restore the vast landscape of their tribe back into a thriving Forest-Savannah and to coexist with the wild elephants and all the other species there.  I was inspired to donate.

Only days later, I was on an EcoRestoration Zoom Town Hall and one of the presenters was Aviv, one of the principal people behind the fundraiser, so I got a much more inside view of the project.  Such synchronicities should not be ignored so I bring this project to your attention. – Michael Pilarski

Project Update: Help her Replant the Forest-Savannah and save her culture – Posted by Priscilla Senteina (sponsored by permadomia, a french ngo, and Eco No-mads YouTube Channel)

Dear friends of the Pastoralist Savannah Restoration Center,

As we approach the last phase of the fundraiser, we want to say THANK YOU for believing in our vision of restoring the vast landscape of the Samburu community in N’kilois village back into a thriving Forest-Savannah. This vision has inspired us deeply to spend countless hours planning, writing, discussing, and going on collective learning ventures with you- the community. We have no doubt that this vision will manifest, as we feel it is in tune with the power of common sense, radical love, and transformation. As in every change, timing has its own rhythm—which reminds me of a Hebrew song I love: “All the truly beautiful things are revealed in their own inconsiderate time” [Daniella Spector]. For now, we are extending the fundraiser for another 2 weeks to give us a chance of reaching at least one of our goals, while also working on multiple levels to reach other funding sources with which we could implement our project plans. If you could send today a WhatsApp message/email to one or more friends, telling them about the project together with the link to the fundraiser, inviting them to donate: https://chuffed.org/project/samburu, we could see a doubling of the funds in just a day or two. If you haven’t joined the WhatsApp community yet, you’re very welcome to 🙂 Here’s the link: https://Samburu.short.gy/Join-Community and their official website – https://thesamburuproject.org/

Thank you for caring, sharing and being on this journey together. With love and appreciation,
– Aviv and the Team. Hakuna Matata!
