The Global Earth Repair Film Series: Cinematic gems on Ecological Restoration and Climate Healing
Join us in Port Townsend on the last Saturday of every month from December 28 to April 26 for a series of thought-provoking films exploring climate solutions, ecosystem restoration, and the fight to protect our planet. Each session features insightful storytelling and opportunities to engage with filmmakers and experts.
December 28, 6-8pm – Session #1: Rivers Above the Canopy

This stunning documentary delves into the “biotic pump” phenomenon, showcasing how mighty forests like the Amazon create and sustain their own freshwater systems through colossal “flying rivers” of moist air. Featuring leading scientists like Antonio Nobre and Anastassia Makarieva, the film highlights the Amazon’s vital role in global ecology and the devastating consequences of its destruction.
January 25, 6-8pm – Session #2: The Climate Restorers: Blue Carbon

Exploring the ocean’s potential to restore Earth’s climate, this film focuses on blue carbon ecosystems like mangroves and seagrasses. February 22, 6-8pm – Session #3: Water is Love: Ripples of Regeneration

Follow Indigenous forest guardians Marçal Guajajara and Puyr Tembé as they protect their territories from deforestation. Through intimate storytelling, the film explores the science, politics, and economics behind deforestation and its global impact, providing a deeply personal look at the fight to preserve the Amazon.
April 26, 6-8pm – Session #5: Greening Africa: Food Forest Mega-Projects
